Heart of Gold

Stunningly shot in the famed Douro wine region, Heart of Gold is an engrossing tale of Maria, a woman torn between her daughter, Catarina, and the justice.

Maria's former employer, Antonio, is nearing his end and decides to include her in his will, giving her share of wealth in his Douro river farm and a pioneering medical research clinic. Antonia is aware of the truth that Maria was once in a relationship with his son, Henrique, and Catarina is the child of this relationship.

As the events unfold, Catarina decides to kill Antonio, without knowing in the least that he is her grandfather. When Maria finds out about it, she is left with the most difficult choice of her life: daughter or justice.

Henrique, on the other hand, is firmly against both Maria and Catarina. He believes they both are opportunists and misled his father to walk away with a slice of his wealth.
