In Search of Josephine is a two-part film that explores the legends of an incredibly modern woman from her childhood in the island of Martinique to her coronation as empress at the age of 41, and ten years later, to her death in her palace.

Through historical re-enactment, the film reconstructs the extraordinary life of an extraordinary woman. Having survived a devastating hurricane, death sentence, firing canons, bombing and even a fall from balcony, Josephine continues to fascinate millions of curious minds the world over. It's not entirely because of the fact that she was married to one of the best known names in the history, Napoleon, but also because of the life she lived, which, to say the least, was full of drama and grandeur.
