For an enthusiastic young ecologist, Madagascar is a land of wonders. But when his search for the largest lemur in the world, the Indri Indri, leads him to discover just how close to extinction these species are, he sets out to seek reassurances that all is not lost.

Traveling the country, he gets to know the wildlife and the people of Madagascar, seeing first hand the harsh reality of the evolutionary fight for survival. Along the way, we learn of the origins of life on this island, and what so threatens its future.
